2010年消費性電子展(CES)的重頭戲之一：3D產品，誠如大家所預期的各重量級角色全員到齊、粉墨登場，為這「3D元年」開響新春第一聲巨炮。這是我從事3D產品開發十幾年來，第一次能夠在一個電子展裡看盡全世界3D產業界精品的大會師，這是百年難得一見的盛事，能躬逢其時，亦屬三生有幸！這還是要拜好萊塢3D電影之賜與日本Sony、Panasonic家電巨擘的奮力一搏；否則恐怕這個「3D元年」還是個遙遙無期、未定之天。

緣起
戲說好萊塢電影長期被盜版、網路下載等大量侵蝕，以致流失大量電影院消費者。為吸引消費者上電影院必須要有強力的誘因(在家裡無法看到的)，迫使他們非上電影院不可，否則享受不到視覺的震撼；3D版電影就這樣被委以重任。因此從2006年起就開始陸續有3D電影發行，而且支支賣座，甚至於比2D版電影高出2 ~ 3倍票房收入，鼓舞更多電影公司投入3D電影的製作與發行，同時也帶動3D戲院的加速建置。

導火線
另一方面，日本Sony一向賴以獲利的Bravia薄型液晶電視，其市場被Samsung與LG廠牌逐漸取代，甚至面臨虧損局面。為了奪回市場寶座並與競爭者做市場區隔，於是打算以大尺寸Bravia 3D電視來絕地大反攻。挾其擁有三家電影公司(哥倫比亞、三星、米高梅)的電影資源優勢、Blu-Ray主導者與PS3遊戲機的高市佔率，全面出擊，並預計投入50億美金的廣告預算，於2010年強打3D電視並拉抬其3D Blu-Ray播放機、PS3遊戲機與VAIO筆電，預估在2012年度可以創造2兆日元3D電視的業績，且其營業收入將佔其20% ~ 30%的總營業額。

至於Panasonic，則一直堅守其Plasma (電漿)電視的陣營，卻苦於市場無法有效擴展。就電漿電視而言，其像素無液晶電視的細緻；但其色域較廣、彩度與輝度卻比液晶電視還要好，同時電漿電視可以在大畫面的情況下還能保有極薄的厚度，再加上3D就是要在大尺寸顯示器上顯示才更具有臨場感，可以充分發揮3D影像的特質。因此，3D電漿電視就成為Panasonic普及市場的絕佳利器，所以Panasonic在這次CES特別展出152吋 4K(3840x2160)3D HDV的電漿電視。

Sony才是主角
從下文Inside Media的報導中，這次CES裡所展出的3D產品琳瑯滿目，可以看出全球的3D產業界幾乎整個動員起來了，我們所能想像的3D產品，都已有人在做，甚至於已經商品化了。不過，這裡有個最核心的3D產品，那就是「3D電視」，不管是3D立體眼鏡、3D Blu-Ray 電影、有線/無線電視傳播、3D立體遊戲、…等，都會需要它，其走入家庭的價值會更大，這也是為什麼Sony要信誓旦旦而且是背水一戰，卯足全力畢其功於一役了！捨Sony，我想誰也沒有這樣的大氣魄，其實Sony這次可是有備而來的。其為了推廣3D電視，早已埋首開發一系列3D影片拍攝、投影、後製、廣播的工具與系統，為這場世紀大豪賭做好萬全的準備，充分表現其企圖心。另一方面，當全世界3D廠商看到Sony這回左拉弓(3D電視)右張弩(Blue-Ray 3D電影)的架勢是玩真的，也就紛紛跟著響應、共襄盛舉，為這沉寂數十年的3D產業帶來難得的熱鬧氣氛。終於，在這2010年的開春CES舞台上，準備演出這麼一場超級3D秀。現在，主角(Sony)登場了，配角(3D廠商)也到齊了，接著下來就看觀眾(消費者)要不要捧場了！

In writing a Display Daily article during a major show or conference, the usual modus operandi includes visiting the exhibits, meeting the exhibitors and reviewing the press releases. Well, at the ongoing CES show, the usual procedures have been overwhelmed. There is so much interesting and important news related to 3D that it is impossible to pick just one item to report.
